Volunteering With The Parenting Center

We love and cherish volunteers! There are many opportunities to help in several program areas and with our special events.

Volunteer Family Life Educators and Bilingual Family Life Educators are currently needed to teach workshops to parents and caregivers that will enhance positive parenting skills. After brief training, you will be able to use your teaching skills to help us fulfill our mission.

Helping with our Parenting Advice Line (PAL) is a great way to interact with and impact families in need. The service is offered Monday through Friday from noon to 3:00 p.m. and allows parents or caregivers to call with questions or problems related to raising children. Basic volunteer and specific PAL training, including two hours of observation, will enable you to effectively assist in this free "warmline" service. This opportunity may even be fulfilled from home.

Volunteer Librarians are in charge of organizing library materials and other information; and may also help with the compilation of books, pamphlets, manuscripts and other materials.

The Family Life Education Marketing Coordinator is a volunteer who conducts public relations and promotional activities on behalf of our education department. This capable person strives to increase the number of participants in existing classes, as well as enhance our awareness in the community.

Support Services volunteers assist with special projects or on a regularly scheduled basis and include answering phones, filing, and other needful clerical duties.

Other opportunities are available for Special Events and agency representation at other functions.

Please see our Volunteer Application information on the left. We look forward to having you help us in Providing Families the Tools to Succeed!
