The primary goal of our mediation is helping families with children to settle disputes out of court or prior to re-entering the litigation process.
Mediation is available for both court ordered and voluntary alternative dispute resolution. The Parenting Center's Family Transitions program only mediates cases involving families with children where custody or access is the primary issue. We use only trained mediators who have met the minimum criteria for family mediation. Parties are encouraged to discuss the mediation with their attorneys prior to signing the final agreement.
Families that have attended coparenting education have a greater success rate, better follow-through, feel more empowered, and utilize their mediation time more effectively. Completion of the coparenting series is required prior to mediation.
