Join The Fight to Prevent Child Abuse!
It's a sensitive topic, but child abuse is a growing problem in our community:
- Tarrant County has the second highest number of abused and neglected children in the entire State of Texas
- Although the Tarrant County child population has increased by 20% in the last decade, the number of abused and neglected children has increased by 128% during that same time period
- In 2010, Tarrant County had more confirmed victims of abuse (6,222) than Dallas County (5,591), although the child population of Dallas County is 40% larger
- Preventing one case of child abuse saves the taxpayers of Tarrant County $14,000
Your support of the Building Strong Families Luncheon helps prevent child abuse by sustaining the education and counseling programs at The Parenting Center.
Thank you for making our 2011 Building Strong Families Luncheon a great success!
